The inaugural(spelling?) post!

Dudes and dudettes, and to the rest of the world that might see this, i come in peace and vege grease

My current location..Some neighborhood in Logan ,Utah. We drove around some mormon looking neighborhoods in search of free wireless internet. These days, it's hard to find things for free, but we do what we can. The women whose house we're parked in front of just walked outside to walk her dog and the little fellow almost jumped onto the bus. It was a big day for the boys, so Doug and Adam have gone to sleep in their bunks, or portals, as Adam only allows us to refer to H.M.S Herby in nautical terms. I woke up on the side of an exit off ramp in Wyoming. We stopped at in Little America at a gas station for a scone and I was intrigued by all the John Wayne pictures on the wall. We sailed through Salt Lake City today to check out "the best and biggest" climbing gym in the country. It was pretty sweet, but we didn't have the funds to waste on climbing indoors, so we passed. Oh,other important things. Doug has the top speed of 66 miles and hour, which beats the previous speed of 65mph, also set by Doug. Don't go gettin' the idea that we're "hurdeling" down the highway or anything. Herbster usually does 50-55mph but today he was having some trouble up the hills and we were doing 15mph flat out. The same group of cyclists passed us 3 times, no joke. I keep telling Doug that Herby is acting up because he talks to it so harshly but everytime I mention that he responds with, "Damn piece of S*#T". We have been able to create and revolutionary device to actually drive the bus without having to put your foot on the pedal. It took some scheming, but we took a 2X4, cut it, jammed it on the gas pedal and jammed it against the seat. Don't worry mom, in case of emergency breaking (for a cow i guess), you just kick the 2X4 away and your back in the game. Since I just got internet acess for the first time in DAYS, I must get busy in the digital world and catch up on all the gossip on facebook. Speaking of gossip...

Adam and I had a rather embarrising moment at the Flying J truck spot in Wyoming. There was an article on the wall that showed Princess Diana and her funeral. For a split second I must have had a lapse of memory because I looked at Adam and said, "Dude, check it, Princess Diana died." He looked at me in shock and said, "No way man. Are you serious?" About three seconds after that he said, "Wait a minute", and it both occured to us that we were about 10 years late on that one. All laughs aside, it frightened me because it reminded me way too much of that scene in dumb and dumber when he leaves the bar and say's something like, "We landed on the moon!".

Okay, now I'm really gonna go. The days keep getting shorter and shorter before having to get a real job and save up some money for the next adventure. What the waste vegetable oil textbooks fail to tell you is that the dern' fuel filters cost $20 for a new one every 100 gallons, and since we're running this thing like 15 hours a day sometimes, my calculations tell me that is a whole lot of fuel filters. There aren't many things that I am absolutely sure of in this wild world, but one thing i am sure of is that there are NO fleetgaurd FS19557 fuel filters in the entire town of Salt Lake City, nowhere. We're still running on some gradeA waste vege oil that we sucked up from a japanese place in Denver. Not to bad.

I'm gonna stay up on the top deck and look out for pirates while the H.M.S Herby stays safely anchored at port for the night. I'll post some pictures with one eye while i'm a lookin' out for pirates with the other. arrrghhh!

A quote or 2 to wind down my first blog post, EVER! There is a very good change I could get lazy with this thing and not post again.

"The faster I go out there, the slower things seem to go" - Gerry Lopez, on pipeline

"Oh wow. A car" -Adam Floyd, rural Utah

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, bookmark the site below. My buddy Doug makes climbing holds out of his garage and if you click on the "journal" section, you can see the posts that Adam has put of from Herby's first coast to coast sail.
